Looks like a pretty cool board, but remember, this is the country that markets the Citroen and the Deux Cheveaux - cars that make Saabs look normal. :)

Thanks for the comparo'. You obviously love those Agros. I'm keen to check out one of those Comet 36" park decks. Interesting to hear that it's stiffer than your wood decks.

In response to Rick from OZ's request...
BullDog Skates (BDS) 38x10.5 longboard. Currently setup with Tracker Aggro trucks, mix of Tracker SuperBall and Stimulator bushings, Gravity Street-G wheels, wedged risers (skinny end facing nose front & rear). This is now my preferred board for bowls/pools. Super stable, and yet carves nicely (once I got the wedges and bushings sorted out). The reverse concave on this deck is great if you like relatively flat decks (which I do). This setup is a little too big/heavy for mini ramps and small obstacles.
Comet 36" PROflex Park deck, Tracker Aggro trucks, various Tracker SuperBall and Stimulator bushings, various wheels (BDS, Bones SPFs). This was my first foray into decks with a wheelbase/truckbase longer than 17". It definitely improved my bowl/pool skating. The deck is noticeably lighter and stiffer than my all-wood decks, but doesn't feel "dead." Felt a little on the narrow side when I got it (I was skating the Hackett 100% of the time), but after getting the 10.5x38" BDS, it now feels like a newschool deck (which is all relative, of course). Also, after skating the reverse concave BDS, the Comet's concave feels too extreme. This one is great in bowls/pools, good on mini ramps, but a little too long for small obstacles (e.g., 2-3' quarters, etc). If they made a wider version of this deck I'd be all over it.
Deathbox Hackett, Tracker Aggros, mix of Tracker SuperBall and Stimulator bushings, various wheels (BDS, Bones SPF). My first board with a wheelbase longer than 15.5". Great all-around park board. Everyone who rides a newschool board raves about it after trying it in a bowl/pool. Really fun on mini ramps and small stuff, too. But, after riding the Comet and BDS, it feels a little "short." The concave is somewhere inbetween the BDS and the Comet.

I'd like to try one with soft, fast wheels. Like picking up a bunch of soft La Costas and shaving square sided. it would be a lot of work, though. I kinda like the look of the "fatty" bamboo carver or whatever it is called.

Yup, those are Trackers. Dart 184s, Aggro/B2 hybrid, Aggro/B2 hybrid. The 184s were turning too slow (compared to the Aggros), so swapped 'em out with Aggros. Gonna give that a try, and if that don't work, I'm gonna wedge the 184s.

the trucks will work for both boards and you won't get wheel bite. I would go with the sector 9 super cruiser, nice shape and performance. but i would recomend a smaller wheel, that may big a little big for both of those decks.

Will, you might also look into Bozi's Mad Bomber II. It comes as a complete with those exact trucks and wheels and, although the weather here's been so crappy I've only gotten a couple of rides, there's no wheelbite, the deck is awesome, and you couldn't deal with a nicer guy than Jeff.

I was thinking of puting 180 r2's and 83mm flywheels on a gravity concave carve or a sector nine supercruiser. Will this setup work or will I get wheel bite. Also which is a better deck, the sector nine or the gravity? Thanks

Andy, Lets see, I had the deck for about 8 months. I rode it pretty regularly, both to class here at college and took moderate downhill runs on it. I weigh about 185-190lbs and the only stress that was ever put on it was sliding, and that may have torqued the ends of the board and weakened them. I also hit a few larger cracks in the sidewalks around town. Stress cracks appeared right away after I first started riding it. They were on the front mounting holes primarily. I used panhead bolts, no counter sunk so I don't know that panheads stress the board too much. They weren't tightened down to dig into the wood, they were only tightened down enough so no amount of truck jiggling would cause any play.
The board finally broke on new years when I was skating back from downtown with my girlfriend and I hit a crack in the sidewalk...heard a loud *snap* and the board felt pretty soggy after that. I quickly got off and checked it out and it was the back of the board that broke. I *always* rode the board with the less extreme angle in the front, so the back end had the larger "tongue" and maybe was prone to more stress. I rode the board the rest of the way home, it was very soggy and finally as I was crossing the last street it sunk far enough and snapped, rendering it useless.
I highly recomend these boards, but I do believe they need to be reinforced before being ridden often.
