Pierre they are on the way.
Rob have you figured anything out yet?
Call or e-mail me.
While in Montreal we were trying to convince JF and Jimmy Z to join us in Morro Bay from Sandia. Hopefully they will make it.

Many kudos to Benjamin for another Board Room - getting 70+ longboarders organized takes a lot.
To everyone that came out - it was a blast riding with all of you. It is fantastic to get that many skaters together - we need to do it more often.
Anyone who talked to me about getting into slalom - please feel free to e-mail me and I will get everyone out for a session. Would love to see the slalom scene grow in Toronto.
All the best,
Rob

Board meeting is tommorow (Saturday) when a greivously large mass of longboarders bomb Yonge in white dress shirt and tie 5:00 PM at Yonge & St Clair. So far CW, CityTV, and TO Star are covering it, last year was a barrel of monkeys so show up or miss the fun. -tom

-Riders are placed into groups by drawing names from a hat.(The Canadian way) -All heats are unlimited push start. In all sessions the first heat will determine the order that riders will leave in next heat. There is no limit to the number of rider that race in the first session. There will be 4 groups of riders in the preliminary session. If the number of racers is too great than more groups will be added accordingly. -Example: if there are say 19 racers than there may be 3 groups of 5 and one group of 4 (This will insure 4 group with no confusion about who will get eliminated). If there are less than 16 the number of rounds may be increased. -ie: fastest and most experienced in front to avoid amateur crashes and general mayhem. -Brackets determine the order that a racer will leave the start line in heats two and three. The order the riders cross the finish line is the order they begin the next heat. -In heat 2 and 3, Riders will start in 1-second intervals. The order the riders cross the finish line is the order they begin the next heat. -Example: If in heat 1 you came in 3rd place than in heat 2 you would leave one second behind the number two finisher. This is applied to all sessions including finals. -The FIRST 2 riders to cross the finish line in the 3rd round WILL ADVANCE. *Top 2 riders from each preliminary heat go onto semi-finals* -Semi finals are determined when there are 2 groups of 4 riders competing. -The top 2 riders from each group in the semi finals will move on to the finals. -3 rounds of finals will determine the Winner! *Number of riders to move on to semi finals may be determined by total number of racers* -This format is up for revision on race day (Sept 19th ). Competitors will vote on a format and ultimately decide on the elimination layout. The above format is tentative at the present.
Riders must wear a MINIMUM of double denim pants and a denim jacket Riders must wear a helmet Sliding gloves are recommended Skateboards must be lean to steer Racers can grab their board and may remove one foot off the board for breaking. Racers must remain on their feet at all times.

If anyone buys those built in bearings, don't put washers in with them. There are spacers in them already so if washers are put in there isn't enought space for the nut to lock on the truck. I found out the hard way. I was going down 50 road in Grimsby and my front wheel fell off about 3/4 way down the hill. If anyones ever ridin that hill you'll know how rough the pavement is on the upper half. I thrashed my arm nicely and got a few stiches. Luckly there were no cars. So heads up!!

Thanks again to Claude Regnier for representing Canada (along with another canadian longboarder - whose name i don't know - please make yourself known!)at the U.S. Nationals in Breckenridge,Colorado this past week-end. A particularily gnarly race for those accustomed to sea level and lots of room for stopping - Claude skated well in the TS after qualifying 23rd, then moving up to 5th place in the B division . Lookout at the Worlds in October!

Yeah, haha, negative, Doctor humour. My brother is an orthopod over at Joe Brant in Burlington, so I am forced to deal with it on occation. :-)
If you are getting out longboard or luge around here let me know. I am over in the Hespeler part of Cambridge by the river. I have a couple of pretty decent hills right outside my door. Nothing like the escarpment, but about 35 vertical meters and almost a kilometer from top to bottom.
On the straight shot you get out to about 80-85k. On the curvy run (4 good corners - one really tight right hander) you get up to about 65-70k on the luge. Speedboard and longboard are also a blast.
The neighbours are tame and don't mind me ripping down the hills.
Melran Endeavour Drive McMeekan
all good runs...
Email me if you are going to be in the neighbourhood or if there is something going on out your way.
Cheers,
Paul
