Max,
In order to stop at speeds of 20 to 30 miles an hour, your best bet is to carve to slow down. If the amount of space doesnt admit it, you can also slide to a stop, but this technique is more of an advanced skill. I agree with checking out a video to look on how its done

you dont wanna do the g-stop dude! it f#@!s you up! it causes like cellular breakdown and gives you brain damage and stuff! i would go to www.faltownskateboards.com and dig around in the movies section. and learn to stop before you get going to fast.

I need to know the most efficient way of stopping for speeds of 20-30 mph. I just started longboarding about 2 weeks ago and so far just keep going until I stop, or sometimes jump off at the last second. Please, email me. Also... what's all this talk about a g-stop?

Tip on heelside slide for Airin

Airin, I had the same problem as you when I first started learning heelsides. The key for me was to really get down in the drop-knee stance, and, most importantly, make sure your front foot rolls over onto its side on the board. You can tell if this is happening by seeing if the side of your shoe is getting scuffed, similar to how you scuff up the side of your shoe when you ollie. When your foot rolls over like this, there is less of your shoe touching the board, and the tail of your board will whip around more easily. The side of the sole of your shoe acts as a smaller pivot point upon which your board can rotate. This isn't always necessary to get a good slide, but it does help, especially when you go to learn 360's. Also, keep the speed up, as much as you feel comfortable - this helps out quite a bit also. Keep practicing, you'll get it.

Ive been using the Lush Cannonballs for months now and have been blown away by how good they are. I previously used to swear by Bullets as they were cheap and did the job. Within about 2 or 3 months of using them id been through 8 or 10 individual Bullet wheels. I eventually swapped over to Cannonballs and have been riding the same set for 2 or 3 months now and there is no sign of flatspots or chunking around the lip. I have been riding them just as hard...pulling long laybacks and other variations including manual slides and they seem to hold up really well
They have a big core which i think helps the wheel hold its shape when the pressure is applied on it during a slide. They are around 97a which means that doing rotational slides are really clean and clicked. The bullets tend to carry on sliding past the fall line when you want them to stop...whereas the litte extra grip in the cannonballs means that you can get the board pointing back down hill and stand up heaps quicker and you can be a lot more confident.
Ive done 1440 flatspins on these babies so dont let the 97a durometer fool you into thinking they wont slide...wheels dont have to be 100a to do the job.

It really depends on how deep you like your concave, width of deck, wheelbase distance. You shold try before you buy.
Both of those are good decks you'll most likely like both of them if you buy either one.

I just made my first pair of slide gloves today. took it to the U of U stadium lot. My wheels gave way but are too soft to break easy. I am looking at less then $30... any wheels that you guys would reccomend. I would like the sergios, but cant find them local and gravity.com is out of stock on most wheels. Thanks for all comments Erek Shaffer- pro street luger
