I've seen a raft guide use a coustemers paddle on a steep put-in road. Its hard plastic about four feet long. We were behind him in the van doing around 30mph. he was barefoot so there was no foot braking going on.

Mecca slide rocks, once you get that and tweak it it throws you full on into a surrenda and I couldnt do that before, it seems that the surrenda is a easy slide to do if your thrown into it from another slide. I like the mecca slide very very much =)

Nice site chaps. The tutorial section rocks, and the rolling vid with script pointers is a very very nice touch. Now if only my broken and mangled feet would heal so I can get out there ripping. Two broken toes and a broken ankle all within about a month or two and monkey face here didnt doctor it. Ahh well that which dosent kill you makes you stronger.. or it just makes it more likely to fracture but it wasnt a serious break, just a little hairline thing going on so.

I was wondering if anybody has a tool or does braking other than the tradtitinal mathods. I can footbrake but i dont reallly want to grind my shoe every day home from school. its not that i go fast its just that i have to break cause of a busy road coming up or a huge hill with a busy road near the end so let me know. Also if u have any ideas PS Using or doing it standing up would be prefered.

How come the website was up and then it went away again? Checked it a while ago and it was up and running...granted some of the bits were not yet fully working and some of the videos were a bit suspect. All looked good though from the little i saw of it! Looked very professional! Cant wait for it to go up again...and stay up???

Hey Everyone!
As you may or may not have seen we have advertised that our site will be going live on the 3rd May. Im afraid to say that you eager beavers will just have to wait till the 4th before you can get your hands on the site. We really worked to get it to you for the 3rd but circumstances out of our control have made us put things back one day! We hope that when you see the site it will be worth the wait. Big hello to the sliding world. Once you see it it'll be worth i promise. On there we have our decks, completes, clothes, slide skool, rider gallery and movies, all our downloads, slide/skate spots, artist gallery's, new & events and tonnes more.
Looking forward to the feedback we get from the site from you guys!
All the best
Chris (faltown skateboards)

"there is no point going out sliding on a fat ass long board with softish wheels, thats just whack!!!! "
...unless of course that's what feels good to you. I prefer a 40" board with ~86a wheels, but I do most of my sliding in ditches anyway. Personal taste matters, that's all I'm trying to say.

Jump and Run and Foot Braking are the best ways for beginners to stop . Slides are the next level...practice this VERY CAREFULLY...check the Sliding page. When you wanna do bigger hills, you can risk it all and bomb straight down, or learn to carve your speed under control.
