socket cap button head screws

Do a search for these at www.mcmaster.com and I think you'll find what you're looking for. Depending on the length you choose you may have to buy in quantities of 50 or 100, but then you're stocked for all those future set-ups.

Screws
On 10/16/2001 Mitch T wrote in from (198.80.nnn.nnn)

Arey you talking about the ones that look like mushrooms? Longskate has them under the parts link, second page. I also found some on the Tracker truck web site. The ones at longskate have a bigger phillips head while the Trackers have a smaller allen head and come with an Allen wrench. My boards have a combination of both, I use longskates for the lower end on an angled riser and trackers on the high end as the trackers are available in longer lengths.

You might try emailing the guy at poolskater.com. I got a bunch of the same hardware you speak of from the guy (Mark?) just a while back.
Very nice guy nonetheless, even though it wasn't posted on the website he had it for sale, just ask.

Flat screw Zero- Migration Boards has some hardware that looks like what you're looking for. Awfully pricey, though.

Mounting Hardware
On 10/15/2001 Flat screw Zero wrote in from (24.187.nnn.nnn)

I have a dilemma.Small but annoying nonetheless. I can't seem to find the truck mounting hardware that I want. I have a couple of Fibreglass boards and want to get flat screws for (as opposed to the tapered kind...panhead I think they're called) mounting the trucks. What I want is a #8 32 thread about an inch and a half long. I have some of these screws on boards that I bought as completes and see them all over on other completes but to try and get some is seemingly next to impossible. 5 skate shops in my area don't have them. and I just checked out Poolskater, solidskate, longskate, bowlrider etc. and no one has them. The closest I can seem to get is one hardware store that has #8 24 thread but they have a small head as opposed to big which is what I want. I know I'm being picky but if some one can help me out on where to find them I would be greatly appreciative. thanks.

Good Shoes
On 10/7/2001 Kaylee wrote in from (63.20.nnn.nnn)

I really miss the old bad-ass Airwalks with lacesavers and such, but Vans Half Cabs and Hi Tops work well. Bob Burnquist's most recent eS shoe was an awesome midtop shoe like nothing else currently in production, but they stopped making it. I hear he has a new model coming out in the spring, I hope they are even higher-top than before. I've seen pictures of Burnquist wearing prototype hightops. Here's one skaters vote for real skate hightops to be made for public consumption. The longboard/downhill crowd would probably flock to them.

hightops
On 10/7/2001 The Boardman wrote in from (12.80.nnn.nnn)

Hightops (for you youngsters) were used cuz the poolskaters were getting alot of "ankle-biters" from their boards. Many times you would run off a fall only to have your board (must be some skate law of physics - ask Chaput) hit you in the back or side of the ankle. I beleive the first one to be seen wearing Hightops was T.A. in the Dogbowl days. Nike Larry Birds in Blue, red or green suede. Great shoe. lots of padding. Wish they would make em again. The Vans Old School High top is a great shoe too and are available however I've only seen 'em at the park shops. If you want just ankle support get the good old Converse Chuck Taylor's. A big fashion statement w/ the punk rock crowd and use Rit dye to jazz em up. They are cheap, light and stick like glue to your board. DP swears by them.

The shop is called Scott panel and hardware in New Plymouth. They have branches nationwide, you should be able to find a local branch at www.yellowpages.co.nz

Snowboarding Parkas \ jackets
On 10/6/2001 Hizzout wrote in from (208.164.nnn.nnn)

Winter is on it's way, and while a lot of you think that the skateboarding season is ending, I find it one of the best times of the year to go skating in parking garages. Most of the time security doesn't want to bother with coming after you because they're warm in their booths. ;)

Anyone know of a good spot online to get a snowboarding parka or jacket for a good price?

My favorite, warmest jacket was stolen last year, and with the wind already cooling down, I need to get one before the 1st snowfall.

Any help would be appreciated.

Peace

Contact cement
On 10/5/2001 Nic wrote in from (203.96.nnn.nnn)

Monkeyman,
I got a 1 litre tin from a local (NZ) shop selling plywood, timber and various glues etc, can,t think of their name, or what you,d call them. I believe its used to stick formica and stuff so perhaps try ringing some laminators, they shoud be able to point you in the right direction.

backpacks
On 10/5/2001 Mark wrote in from (199.46.nnn.nnn)

David,
Check out the CCS catalog / website for their backpacks. I have one of the
CCS brand packs, and it is very well made. They have two or three that are
designed to carry boards. The CCS brand is cheaper than Spitfire, Indy,
and others, too.

BMW
On 10/4/2001 Herbn wrote in from (64.12.nnn.nnn)

The close call for me was that retail on the thing is 550 or something like that,a friend of a friend is a Beemer dealer with a few in stock and would have given me 10 % off, whoopie!they don't seem to be selling on ebay at 400 but i'm willing to sell them to you for 500 and i can wait a long time for someone to buy it for 600,thanks,no thanks.Personally, rubber wheels don't do it for me,they don't sound like a high speed board, and they're heavy,,,,,i'm waiting for the upside,a board you need a hill for because you don't wanna push this load around, but don't go to a fast big hill because it doesn't handle speed well, and you'll probabely cook the hard to replace,(not to mention $)tires/wheels.naahhhhh don't think so.
