I posted a note on slalomskateboarder.com why dont they have cash for women who compete at the Worlds. It was on there for one day before killed. What is the rule for women, are they ams or pros. In Paris every W is a Femme Skate Pro. We all need to turn pro then they will have a division for us with cash. In my dreams, that I would be pro. Well there are Pros and there are professionals and then there are PROS. One thing I never wanted to be was a Pro Ho. I guess its working, ha ha. Going to reread the definitions. Love to you all. j

The organizers of the World Championships in Gothenburg Sweden have stepped up to offer a Women's prize purse commensurate with the number of women signed up. They will offer $600 Euros as the pool, which is 75% of the Women's entry fees.
So all you European, Brazilian, Aussie women: Get there! Let's have a great race!

The nonprofit Skateboard Moms Inc. is proud to present their fifth annual charity event, the 2008 MIGHTY MAMA SKATE-O-RAMA™, Sunday May 11th (Mother's Day) at the Laguna Niguel skateboard park in Orange County, Calif.
The MIGHTY MAMA SKATE-O-RAMA™ is party on wheels for Women Who Dare To Have Fun. The event features skateboarding women of all ages and abilities, in a non-competitive, family-friendly atmosphere. You don't have to be a "mom" to participate--all women are welcome, along with any and all supporters, male or female, young or old.
The action begins at 10 am, with introduction of the Skate Moms at 11 am. As always, this year's event will feature another Rockin' Raffle of great skate gear and other cool goods with proceeds benefitting La Habra-based Rosie's Garage, an afterschool program for kids in need.
This year's Official Mighty Mama Honoree is '70s freestyle legend Ellen (Oneal) Deason, who will be present at the event! For more on Ellen, click below to see her featured in a classic Skateboarding magazine's "Who's Hot!" feature: http://www.oldschoolskateboarding.com/history/70s/70skaters/ellenoneil/index.html
The Skateboard Moms and the MIGHTY MAMA SKATE-O-RAMA™ have been featured in over 200 media outlets including Good Morning America, The Early Show, ESPN2, Fuel TV, USA Today, Los Angeles Times, Miami Herald, Boston Globe, National Public Radio, BBC Radio and many more.
The 20,000-square foot Laguna Niguel skateboard park is located at 27745 Alicia Parkway in Laguna Niguel, CA. The skatepark charges a $10 daily fee (or $60 for an annual pass) and requires full safety gear (knee pads, elbow pads, helmet) and a signed liability waiver.

In regards to the earlier posts by Cat, Isabelle and Richy, I would like to take a moment to express my thanks and gratitude to all who have expressed their love and concern for Kyndra and my family.
It's not fair for anyone, especially a kid to have to go through such an ordeal!! Kyndra is recovering well, it will be at least 4 to 6 weeks before she can resume normal activity. For all who know her, I will have my hands full trying to keep her down.LOL! She is able to move about on her own but she tires out easily. So for now we're just taking it easy. She has lots of friends visiting regularly and her spirits are good...It's so much against her nature to be held down like this, I know it's hard for her but she dealing with it the best she can.
The expressions of true concern and love by way of word and material support, honestly bring me to tears.... Many of you we know and many of you we have only just met, I am overwhelmed by the support of all of you who don't even know us!!
No words will ever be able to express how deeply I appreciate all that you are doing for us emotionally and physically... I need to say THANKS to ALL from the bottom of my heart!! It's an honor and a privelege to be a part of this amazing community....
Sincerly, Adam

TIME TO RALLY TOGETHER FOR THE COX FAMILY!

Per Isabelle's instructions, I am posting this here also!
For those of you living in California, you probably have had the great pleasure of meeting Adam, Kyndra and Kirby Cox at a slalom, downhill, or slide contest. I met them last year, and they are truly a wonderful family.
At the ripe old age of 16, Kyndra is an up and coming slalom and slide Diva, and her 14 year old brother, Kirby, is a budding downhiller, slalomer, and seasoned slider. When Kyndra is not in school, she helps out by working a part-time job in Carlsbad.
Adam is a single, self-employed father, raising his family in Carlsbad. He drives Kyndra and Kirby to all their skating contests, and is usually the one delivering the ramps in his gigantic truck!
Early this morning, I found out from Isabelle that Kyndra had to be rushed to the hospital on Sunday. After a CAT scan and many tests later, Kyndra was admitted into surgery to remove a very large cyst on her ovary that had been causing excruciating pain for quite some time.
While the doctors were in there, they also found a nodule on her small intestine. This was also removed, and is being biopsied by the lab.
Isabelle had the wonderful idea of posting something to help out the family, and I though it was a great idea.
If anyone in our slalom community would like to help the Cox family with medical costs, you can PayPal Adam directly at: jmc.ace@hotmail.com.
Much thanks to everyone.
Kendra at the 2007 La Costa/Pump Station contest
Kyndra with Isabelle & all her swag!
