Suspenders - the skateboard kind.

Hey Hackett,
My memory is fuzzy these days. I had a set of Suspenders on an old 25" G&S Warptail in the 70's. The only thing I remember about them was how bad my abs hurt the next day after practicing jumping with them the first time. Do you remember if there was a way to release from the things. I sort of remember twisting my foot to get the velcro to release but I may just be remembering twisting my foot. I do remember skating the banks at Muir and Miller school with them, but I don't remember ever falling. Some people thought they were lame, after having used them, I had total respect for you and your brother skating pools and Skatercross with them. Remember, that was before plastic cup knee pads so sliding out a bail wasn't an option.
Glen
P.S. Did you and Zena ever get a keyboard?

Skin to win at JPL. Ko-SICK! takes Gold. John O. takes SILVER on the fastest JPL ever. Maysey third. This is how the west was won, with a handful(8 dudes) of diehaRDS, blasting 40 MPH down a 26 second course. tHANKS TO mIKE AND tIGER!!! It looks like slalom has officially gone back into it's hole out here. I feel like a groundhog playing russian roulette with the CIA.

Yo folks! The Amish still ride those in Lancaster County, PA...but recently I've noticed that they've upgraded the wheels...I tried to buy one but they weren't selling. Have fun in Paris Hackett & Olson! Drink some fine wine and a baguette for me!

Miss Kitty has made maps for everyone. We(all 4 apts.) are all within 1-2 minutes from each other. They are all 2-3 minutes from the tower. (by foot)
We will all board the plane in our OFFICIAL Hackett designed RADIKAL shirts. Maria C. will film the exodus of the baddest slalom group to ever invade Europe!!!!!
COUNT DOWN------6 DAYS TO DOMINATION.

It's on guys. I got my traveling papers and I'm a legal beagle.
The apts are all in a 1 block proximity to each other 2 blocks from the tower.
We are styling.
The shirts are all embroidered with our names and will be issued in the airport in Miami.
7 days to total domination.

I know this is old news but I found this on another website. You can see Johnny Walkers results at the bottom of the page, I would guess it's the same guy since Don Oshei's name is right next to him.

I just noticed that Biker and the Dregs crew are coming back to Abq to challenge the Bear and InSkool. Get your Hackett Bear Slayers tuned up, this should be good! We could put a cone right over 'Bikers Hole' to commemorate his last visit to Indian School.....concussion and broken collar bone in 6 places.

Check out the one dressed different than the others....exchange that brown jacket and pants for black leather and you got a future BLR boy about to shred the rest of them!
Joe I: Did you get my voice mail message on the Khiro stuff?
See some of you tomorrow in Athens on the Big Hill! Look for the Blue Element (what a dork mobile) and a bald headed dude and that will be me!

Amish women have always been my greatest challenge.
Hey Hackett. I spoke with Khiro Bob about an order tonight. I had a couple suggestions for him. One was coming up with a chart with variables like weight, truck, discipline, front, back. He said you beat me to the punch.
If you are still working on it, let me know if I can help.

This is an postcard of some skaters in 1960- The year I was born.
On the back of this postcard it reads:
"AMISH Boys at "The Lil Red Schoolhouse" playing a race with their homemade scooters. The AMISH are a religious sect of farmers who seek to detach themselves from the "world" and technoligical pro- gree in order to practice the virtues of humility, holiness and hard work."
And who says skating isn't a religion?
Some things never change...
