I dont remember my father without a cast on his arm lol j/k. but he is a good man he taught me how to ride a skate board even though i didnt really want to at the time he taught me how to do that hand stand on a skate board i did however bust my A$$ a couple of times but he helped me learn. I have a movie from when I was born with all of the old gang skating. Its always nice to see people my father hung out with. if you read this dad love you and give me a call.lollol your baby girl Flurette

yo, anybody know the details of the setups used for the pool boards rode by griffin, whitehead, alfaro, the others in the lodt? particularly towards the end, like the dogbowl scene when they were on their own boards instead of the zephyrs. i was thinkin i saw a few logan type models with bennets in the middle and some personally designed decks with tracker fultracks and cambrias or something in the dogbowl scene. any ideas, or verification?

herbn, the dvd for Skateboard Madness has an extra clip on it called "Some Kind of Swirling Cosmic Vortex" ( i think that's it..), which is an old claymation movie. If you understand what old school claymation took, you will appreciate it that much more. It's awesome and very funny and worth owning the DVD for. The skate footage in Skateboard Madness is great to watch and moments of hilarity too ( like the interview with an Old, Old School skate..."Metal wheels mannn..." ) but sometimes the film really drags. Still, you gots to see that claymation flick LOL

saw skateboard madness on fuel tv,first time i ever saw it, wow to the classic footage, pure cheese though,it was funny though on many levels, like within a five minute section stacy was riding; a warp 1, a warp 2 and a powell peralta double beamer one minute a handplant was a throw away then they were completed old style ,then stalled and upside down.

I thought the movie was great. Obviously it was made for entainment and to the best of everyones knowledge. It's a movie for christs sakes, FUN!!! Seriously, it takes guts to make a movie, let alone a skate one, these guys done a great job and the actors were believable, 9/10 from me. It's nice to know who the Z-Boys are. Also, Emile, Damn fine in this one, Playing Jay really gave him that bad-boy sex appeal.

i remember when Steven would ride his board with an awsome handstand going down hill for about a whole block, i also remember the bad times like that broken arm from that fall in that empty pool near the Venice/ Culver City border where he rose about 6 feet over the pool rail

Hey, I still have "Dogtown, Legend of the Z Boys" by Stecyk and Friedman in the black hard cover edition, $20.00 gets it shipped to your house. Chock full of Great photos.
I doubt seriously that it is the first black hard cover book, but I'm not going to stick my neck out too far and say that as absolute certainty. I will say with absolute certainty that people skated pools in the clay wheel days and that Santa Monicans were not the only ones doing it (if they were doing it at all back then). The jig is up. Thanks-Paul
