Yes, I prefer a real race with timer and I'll set up the timer if you want.
I would prefer a big, fast dual-lane race rather than a slightly bigger, slightly faster single-lane race.
If either of those preferences above means that there won't be a BBQ and you won't be cooking me some fresh nutria shot with stone-age weapons, then I retract what I said.

Hey, 1st - Capt'n Dave Mitchell alerted me to the fact that we need new tape switches and more cables. If everyone could bring $10.00 to the Oct 1st "Big-n-Fast" in Salem that would be great and that way we can get fully functioning systems for both "CSA North" and "CSA South" so to speak.
2nd - Oct 1st "Big-n-Fast" in Salem, Do you guys want to keep it a dual head to head or single lane? I'll be marking courses ahead of time maybe this coming Sun, Mon, or Tues. Also, do we want this to be "real" race with timers or a more relaxed all day slalom session and BBQ?
3rd - I'm going to the Dixie cup in November, I already have my plane tickets and single room(in case I get sick like I did last year), DOES ANYONE WANT TO SHARE A CAR RENTAL FROM THE CHARLOTTE AIRPORT TO STATESVILLE AND WINSTON SALEM AND BACK TO THE AIRPORT(or nearby motel) SUNDAY NIGHT after the Sunday BBQ?

Sunday in PDX was great, Skip was smoking into the course once again with Robin and one run right behind him. Josh was consistent in all 3 runs. Dave A. and Scott stepped it up for their last run, each shaving 2 seconds off their first two runs. Seeing as how we get a clear weekend or two in the Great Northwet in October and November, I have an inkling of an idea that there will be another race before the rains start. Josh wants to do a combned standing for both races, any more opinions? I'd still like to do a GS in PDX and same day tight at WSU. With the last two races in PDX I think we proved we can throw together a race with minimal production effort. Next time we'll give everyone more warning. See everyone at Pauli's Big n Fast!

It just dawned on me yesterday that Paul E. Wogs Salem "end of season BBQ" is only 3 weeks away. We have been really spoiled this whole summer with the weather, that it's hard to believe that possiblly in a month, we'll be back in sweatpaints in a dark garage doing Cyber again. Something to think about with only 2 more races planned here this season! Hint,Hint, sign up, Hint hint. Nice Job, Robin, Skip, and Josh on the podiums at Tabor yesterday. I really wanted to be there, but I didn't want to drive down after just being in Vancouver B.C. late Sat.night Hopefully we'll have next time this season ,I really like that hill. Scott Moore is still getting faster, cool 4th place GS. We session here yesterday, with 2 different courses, plus a 20 cone set spaced 5.5 midway down the hill just off the tight course, which enabled you to run the tight couse , then jump into the 5.5's, then back into the tight course,Stryker and James were killin the course with ease. John especially. Brad was helping newbie Spencer and his mom Jody the finer points of slaloming. Spencer looked really good on the hybrid course and Jody even got on a board and skated. Thanks again Spencer and Jody for the Krispy Kremes and the drinks!!! It was nice to see Tim Eney skating again and was doing awesome, can't wait to see another Tim vs. Kasmer showdown! Sorry Dan my money is on Tim...You need to get out here. Good luck to Gareth, John, and Jackhammer in La Costa. Hope to see everyone in two weeks in Canada.

I will be at The Cactus Moon for Breakfast @ 9:00 am. From I-5 take 128th st exit and head west past 4th. The restaurant is on the north side of 128th. 425 418-2448. Her is the message I recieved from the parade coordinator... Your group need to check in at the intersection of Chennault Beach Blvd and Harbour Reach (across the street from the tennis courts) and they will tell you where to stage. Please be there by 10am (roads close then). The kids parade starts at 10:30 and the regular parade is at 11.
Parking is dicy; follow the signs

Yeah, I pasted the wrong one in. The one Hayato posted on Coast is the best one though...the red star is right at the turnoff into the park and the parking lot we're racing in is the first one you come to after entering the park.

Just to add to what Malcolm posted:
Sept 24 Town Centre Park. Single course hybrid. Decent pavement in a parking lot we just discovered. This park has great pumping/ pushing trails around a small lake, a little skate park, a nice mountain bike/bmx dirt park, sports fields so it's a nice place to hang out. Grocery store, hardware store and mall are all within a few blocks. Practice at 11:00am race at Noon. Here's a link to a map.
http://makeashorterlink.com/?G511216BD
Enter the park turning onto Pinewood Ave off Pinetree Way and turn right into the first lot...you'll see the course. Hope to see some of you 'mericans making the trip up here for this one.

the vancouver slalom race is sunday the 24th of september. at Coquitlam town center park, lot C. from the I-5 take the pacific highway crossing at Blaine. Wa. follow 176 st to highway #1 go west on #1 towards vancouver. take the lougheed highway exit north on lougheed highway until it turns into pinetree. the entrance is to the right on pinewood dr. maps will be up soon
this is an outlaw event in a public park, so we have a very small chance of being shut down. i know of several backup locations in the area but we should be fine. the park is large with a lake and a small beach, walking distance to the mall and other stores.
this is the first event i have organized, i am going to use a similar format to the seattle combo plate because its easy, however we will do 1 course only, a big hybrid. there is no entrance fee, but we will try and line up some prizes. most likely clothing or a deck, however nothing is worked out yet.
if you have an account at silverfish, register in this thread http://www_silverfishlongboarding_com/forum/showthread.php?t=31590 otherwise email me at malcolmstooke at hotmail.com i will compile a list of everyone coming..
if theres anything i forgot, feel free to ask and i will get the info
feel free to call me, i may not pick up, but try again 604 783 0269

THis would be a great idea for the community since this is where the anti-longboard scare started after teh Joes Pyles accident in the spring. Unfortunity I am out for a couple of months (damn hay bails) but I would make the trip from Spokane to show my support for this one. Maybe I still will!

Guys,
We have been invited to ride in the Mukilteo Gran Parade coming soon. This would be an opportunity to share other uses for longboards to the community. LDP, Salalom , etc. I'll enter our association if we have 6 or more participants. Let me know.

Started 7am with just a few guys today and ended up around 14 or so toward the end, a number of new Seattle guys, Seth, Aaron, and Greg out there cuttin their slalom teeth, a mom brought her kid there to get intro'd to the sport while she stayed and read the paper (now thats a cool mom!!), our resident mellow longtime ripper Patrick Alldred, Gareth and family all on wheels -- including wife! and the usual suspects Corey, Brad, Stryker and his son John.
We had a tight-hybrid course set up on the right, and I set up a GS-ish course on the left that still had some gnarly tight stingers. Great times, we were all done before 11:30 when it just started gettin hot.
