Hey, If I'm able to go, I was thinking of driving to the Seattle area and then carpooling with one of you Seattlites. If that works out, Are most of you leaving to Vancouver BC early on the Sunday morning of the race or are you leaving from the Seattle area sometime on Saterday and spending the night somewhere? Let me know the plan so I can plan the time off from work. Thanks - Paul

Hey James, that looks like a pretty good spot, plus you can entertain traffic at the same time. Hopefully the weather will cooperate with the April 1st Date in Salem.
STRYKER and JACKMAN - Good luck in Texas, Yahoo! or whatever.

Salem Soap Box Derby Track Repair

Got a call just now from the folks who do the Soap Box Derby racing in Salem.
They have plans to put some plates over the "troughs" that they use for their starting system -- to keep people from falling by stepping into them. (I guess that has happened.)
Anyway, they had a plan to put plates over them and I made a few design suggestions to make them skateboard-friendly, and they are going to try to do it that way (non-protruding, flush fit).
If it doesn't work as well as we think, we can always make the course miss the troughs as usual, but I thought it was awfully nice of them to consider the skateboard use of the hill before they did any construction....
