Preston - I'd be interested in some Gullwing splits also, along with any Fibreflexes you have available. Please email.
Brady - I agree, the Bowlrider on eBay looks more like a later Kicktail.

Put me down for a set as well Preston. Between these and the new Gullwings, there are really some choices.

Box O' Gully's

This goes out to all persons looking for original gold split axle Gull Wings (before there was a support bracket). I Bumped into a old co-worker who used to work with me at the Chevy Chase Bicycle center here in D.C., they had a huge selction of Skateboard stuff back in the 70's. Well he asked if I still was into it and I mentioned my board collection, and then he tells me the former mngr. has a box of about 12PAIRS of gold Gully's in untouched condtn. I'll keep you all posted. Stay Safe Skaters.

Gully's

Its about time on the Gully front, still reckon with the right bushes they take some beating, anyone explored the theory that because we learnt on this sort of stuff it makes us biased. My friend bought some state of the art board back from Germany? seismics, some weird wheel seemed quite soft 70mm and a 36" slightly rockered deck.
All seemed fine until I got up a bit of speed then the trucks seemed a bit wobbly at straigt on but still couldnt turn in as tight as the gully's.
I stepped out before it turned ugly, but then the debate started on why I didnt rate it, its my technic. Well I adjusted my gullys to suit him (hes younger and lighter) and shunted him off down the hill, I watched and he did ok, he reported that the teamrider was a bit short for him, and the kryps were Scary. But his technic did seem different, he stood slightly diagonally across the board widening the load, and moved hes feet on turns. He seemed to think that was the norm, I always planted got em in the right place on a central plane and stayed with that.
What about the BMW carver thingy, which section does that come under? Joe

I heard the Gullwiings is goint to re-issue the split axle. Maybe not an axect but better (tweeked) version.
Debs at Fibreflex is working on the re-issue of the Teamrider, I can`t remember the lengths but there will be two I think? (32" & 36")?
And Chris C was working on a 70mm wheel.
2002 will be a great year for skate products (as was 2001)!!

Motorbikes? I'd post a pic of my Harley that I just got finished restoring, but it's a 1983 ironhead Sportster and not quite old enough to qualify as Vintage Gear. ;^D

I still look in, been shifting a few bits, www.skatesite.co.uk, Did anything happen on the fibreflex re-issues, not the ironing boards the bowlrider or teamrider efforts? Anyone started manufacturing split axles yet? first person who does and modifys it enough to go round the Patent will be a rich person!! Motorised Ironing board, now theres a thought, nice steel chassis!

Every time I look at this Board now everybody is on on about motorised skateboards, is this an age thing, I would qualify as I'm 36, us skaters in th UK take a bit of time to catch up. Just one question if you wanted something with a motor on it why not get a motorbike?

Bart,
The board you got from me was the 2nd version and I think it was from `78 with it`s replacement Teamrider in `79. I did see an early Bowlrider on Alvins page but that pic is gone but it had the Bowlrider sticker and rubber griptape.

Thanks for posting the question Brady. I'm bidding on that board, but not for the word Bowlrider. I like its similarity to the Kicktail. I do seem to remember that early FF's with the name Bowlrider were only a little bit thicker than a Kicktail but otherwise very similar. What year was the Bowlrider I bought from you in your LaCosta sale? The era of my "memories" is 77ish. Hope somebody can give us a history lesson.
Thanks,
Bart

Bowrider on eBay?

There is what the seller calls a bowlrider on ebay. I`m not sure this is one and to my belief it isn`t, but I`m not sure. It is item #1063693040. It looks to me like earlier Kicktail model. Why I question it is 3 things, shape, sand griptape and not rubber griptape like early models and the plain sticker (I thought all Bowlriders had "Bowlrider" on the decal. Any help?
