knox, the award winning motorcycle armour people also do padded shorts (http://www.planet-knox.co.uk). they're 60quid or so but they do use some pretty hi-tech padding. hav'nt actually seen a pair apart from piccies but if they're as good and well made as their back protectors the extra cash should be worth it.
for pads, TSG 'force 2' series are excellent value and give good protection. they also use some neat design features like coolmax lining, memory foam etc. 50quid for the knees, 30 for the elbows.

Thanks mike :) ... will you be at Watlington? Anyway if you check this tonight, it's OK to pop up and see us tomorrow, hey it's still OK even if you don't check this tonight.
As for pads, we've got "dirt" padded shorts in stock, L/XL size fits most blokes well, they are stretchy, fit under your current baggies and have pads where you need it. www.lushatb.com
See you all at the weekend! (not Brands though, we have a VW show in Bristol that was booked ages ago...)

Try SS20 (Oxford, but they do mail-order)or Surry Skates (Woking) for "Powerslide" padded shorts, better than Dianese,I also have a pair of these too, but no longer wear them! IMHO and half the price at only £25!! I've had a couple of what should have been real bad "hippers" and coxcics(SP?) slams wearing these and I just bounce!! With shorts an inch or so on the comfy side, you won't even know your wearing them. They also work well under snowboard pants in that icy park or pipe! Dont tell people your wearing them and they'll think your well 'ard!! XL size fits my svelt 32-34" frame comfy, but my buddy J*$£% has a huge A** and he manages to squeeze into an XL too!! Hope that helps.

Being on the wrong side of 40, I don't bounce so well either anymore. Good protective kit is esential - Pro Designed pads are the best you get. If you are doing stupid things, get a Grit-x or Dianese body armour outfit with shoulder & spine protection. The snowboard / mountainboard padded shorts also work well. Check this page http://www.atbshop.co.uk/atbshop/products.php?cat=pro A full set of this stuff will keep you skating & out of hospital.

I semi-slammed at Romford yesterday and my arse felt like it had sheared off. Can anyone recommend some of those snowboarder padded shorts? Are they any good on harsh, unforgiving concrete? Also, is there a UK supplier of decent skatepads? I'm thinking my department store bought rollerblader pads might not be the ticket. eyethangyew, Paul.

Sector 9 make ok decks but avoid their trucks, rather get Randals or Trackers and stay away from their wheels, go for ABEC11, Turner, Kryptos. Check out lushlongboards.com & surreyskateboards.com (my 5p’s worth)

There is nothing inherently wrong with S9. But as an importer of boards I'm biased, so I think you might want to look at a range that doesnt use 'stock' items for its completes. The best longboards tend to be made from individual components, decks, trucks and wheels. That way like a good Hi Fi you can get a better sound than a complete system. Its a lot more confusing, but you'll end up with a perfect set up that you can upgrade easily.
Best thing to do is work out what kind of riding you might enjoy, Speed, Cruising, Skateparks.
I reccomend Lush because they cover most bases, at reasonable prices. And they know their stuff. If your in London the best stores are Brixton Cycles and Conspiracy in St Albans, also consider Surrey Skateboards.

Paul Price drew Arab, looks like Arab took the frist run, Paul hitting two cones, but Paul fought back and beat him in the second run, but not by a big enough margin. Not bad for someone who raced Open last year! He'll only get faster.
When done to Mollica, who has done a lot of travelling recently, going to Paris. Shows that international racing helps improve your times.
One last point, both Paul and I beat Mollica in the tight in Paris, and he beat us in staggerred and giant. Just shows that on any course, on any day EVERYONE has a chance. Paul drew Luca in Pris, and gave it his best shot, you never know what will happen. Witness Si Levenes tumble at Paris, which ended in a DQ. Tough world, racing innit!???

I pick HP as:
1) There should be less annoying kids who like to walk through the cones, and dont move !
2) I can get there easily :)
I also need to get some stuff in the area.
Cheers

With this changable weather I actually favour HP this PM. Less sun brings out less people putting prams/three year olds/bikes or dogs through the cones. What do you lot think? Hp or CP this PM?
