Lots of Stuff
On 11/5/2007 Judy H wrote in from United States  (67.185.nnn.nnn)

Holy Cow - I don't check in for a little while and see what happens - new world records!!! Congratulations to James, you are such an inspiration. I can't wait to show my kids at school tomorrow.

Gareth - you are such a great guy, I wasn't surprised to see your name as one of the all night supporters for this effort. My thanks to all of you for the support you leant James. We always hear so much negative about people out there, it's heartwarming and inspiring to hear the good stuff.

Dano - are you healed yet? When do you get to come out and play? Just kidding - I know you are in for a long haul. I went through this with Mark and it was a drag, but he's better than ever.

Hi to everybody. We've chalked a cyber course out behind a mexican restaurant. It's cold and the darn restaurant has some water pipe leaking, but it's flat and long enough and only about three minutes away, so maybe I'll finally get this pumping thing. I know Mark wants me to finally get the hang of it because he's tired of explaining it 50 thousand different ways.

Brad and Kash - congratulations on all your latest results. Miss seeing you guys. Brad, I almost bought a kitten for you last weekend at our school's fundraising auction.

Anybody skating over Vets weekend?

Hugs to all,
J

bbq etc
On 11/4/2007 peters wrote in from United States  (24.18.nnn.nnn)

hey pauliwog, birthday BBQ and cones sounds like a good time!

dan, very cool you could grab that komo clip- thanks!

spence, we're usually on "real" hills if its nice out, and save the cyber for the rainy days -- we'll have plenty later in the season. today was a sketchy call, but met up with the Hammer and Patrick for breakfast and a little LDP session down on the Interurban.

Pat-- thank you for sending up the pressure-tubes for timing strips... I'm definately going to need a schematic (or more likely the expertise of Dong) to make something useful of these, we'll give it a shot.

Salem Parks Questionaire - Think SALEM SOAP BOX DERBY HILL
On 11/3/2007 Pauliwog wrote in from United States  (65.122.nnn.nnn)

Hey Cory, I logged onto the Salem Parks website and filled out the questionaire, thanks for the heads up on that.

All YOU OTHER CSA'ers out there who love the Salem SBD Hill as much as I do, please fill out the questionaire Cory gave the address for, it's a quick and easey copy&paste onto the website(not a link) and you have the opportunity to fill in essay-answers to some of the questions.

Thanks - P

Master's Division BBQ at Albany Skatepark Sunday
On 11/3/2007 Pauliwog wrote in from United States  (65.122.nnn.nnn)

Hey, If anyone is interested, I'm having a Birthday BBQ at the Albany skatepark Sunday Nov 4th(tomorrow) starting early-mid afternoon and likely running until dark. Also flat slalom in the parking lot.

The skatepark is pretty easy to find, just take I-5 to Albany, get off at the Hwy 20 exit, head westward (it's either Pacific or Sunset) and just stop at the occasional gas station or fast food place and you'll find it pretty easily that way and that's about the best way to do it. Look for a big brown city sign saying "Eleanor Hackleman Park" and take a Right heading north-ish and you'll soon see the skatepark.

JAMES PETERS - You are truly an inspiration Bro

24-hour crew thanks!!
On 10/31/2007 peters wrote in from United States  (24.18.nnn.nnn)

thanks john, the details get fuzzy and finally my head's coming together. they've been having a good laugh with me bumbling around work these last couple days.

seriously Gareth, i couldn't ask for a better encouragement and support both mental and physical, to make it through something like this twice. last time Patrick Alldred rode support through the entire night, and both events you stuck it out to set up and hold down the fortress, and kick in support laps as well. this ride truly wouldn't have been possible without your being there!!

here's some camera phone pics off the trail and shots of the coverage. calin's got much better footy that'll be up on pavedwave later. my CSA plug didn't make the final edit ;-) but i'm deeply indebted to you guys, and thanks again Shane and the northwestlongboarding crew. still getting some mileage numbers from other guys, some impressive 'personal bests', i know shane and calin blasted at least one length of the burke each! (25+ miles) and i think iliegh gets the speed pumping award.

Dano -- how long we gotta wait for you to be karate choppin again!!?

New Skatepark In salem!

The City of Salem Is working out the new Parks Master Plan.
This plan will steer how park resources are used for the next 20 years.
if we want to see more skate parks in Salem we need to participate from the start.

If you live in Salem Please go to the parks website and complete the survey
the more skaters that show in the survey results the more resources are likely to go to new parks in the area.

Link to the parks website.

On 10/28/2007 peters wrote in from United States  (24.18.nnn.nnn)

The Sleep Deprivation award goes to John Stryker and Gareth (and Nate) Roe, some serious recognition for being out there ALL of last night in the 30--40 degree night temps around Greenlake. I can't thank you guys enough for the support and this was the second time around! Patrick, Steve, Shane, Iliegh, Jeremy, Spencer, Skip, Calin, Ken, Kevin, and all the family members who put up with a bunch of groggy guys coming home and not getting anything done the rest of the day (or maybe that's just me) ;-)

Thanks again guys-- you're the ones who made this happen. I still haven't seen the komo tv coverage but just going through the process with you all was a blast.

And Congrats Brad on your wins at COSS!!! Got your message today, thanks again.

Hey Dan while you're still under, see if they'll take slabs of your buttocks and sew them onto your shoulders, make you a natural Lou Ferrigno!! ahh well if you do go through with the gender-bender, then you'll be going up against Lynn, Judi, Cat and Judy for the podiums next year, you might want to reconsider!! Hope it all goes well, speedy recovery to ya.

Thanks for the good wishes on the "Ironman" fellas-- hope you can make it out Corey, Stryker and whoever else wants to see as I start sleep-deprivation hallucinations, 7 p.m. Greenlake's probably the best bet, or else Sunday morning then maybe I can pass out at Beth's. Will post this map on the Events board as well.

Have a great time in COSS jackHAMMER and grandmaster CHEWNING!!

Dan-o, good luck with your Male-Reduction procedure. You have carried your "burden" like a trooper all these years and finally you get some relief. Any man would be apprehensive but think about how free you will be now, able to skate, surf, snowboard without it dragging you down because of fear or pain. A good physical therapist will have you functional in no time and if you need help with rehab, I'm sure Corey would love to lend a hand. Best wishes -Mark

Paul Howard -- welcome to the ISSA
On 10/20/2007 Pat Chewning wrote in from United States  (24.22.nnn.nnn)

OK, Paul. You are in.

The ISSA rules are not going to be so restrictive. We can still do "NIMBO" courses, ladder-brackets, cook nutria on the grill.

And best news of all: Gimme Cones! They are not verboten.

All of this falls under rule 11.2 -- Deviations from the standard.
