ISSA Membership/Votes

I'll buy into that as long as I can put on at least some of my traditional goofy events that don't neccesarily follow all ISSA rules and thus I am happy with them not counting for ISSA points. But I'll also try to put on events worth points that do follow ISSA rules and earn ISSA points for the racers.
However, I'll be busy with "the house" until Feb 2008. So take all that for what it's worth. -P

ISSA Voting membership -- for Free!

The ISSA (International Slalom Skateboard Association) recently revised it's rules for membership.
Prior to today, membership votes were $25 per vote, with a maximum of 5.
After today, members may only retain 1 vote.
After today, I can transfer my 2 extra prior voting memberships to 2 "Lucky" people.
If you want a full voting membership in the ISSA (vote on rules, vote on other matters), let me know.
I have 2 to give away and I want my CSA crew to have 1st dibs....
My only stipulation is that you at least make some small effort to participate...

We did a night race once, we attached glow sticks to the cones.
I suggest that if you do a night race, you do it quietly and not near an irate resident who will threaten to call the cops, then threaten you with a gun.
Or as Paul Howard calls him: "Captain Friendly of the Welcome Wagon"
It was not 100% successful....

Hey, Looking at Pat's "NIMBO" course, that looks pretty fun, I wish I could have made that one. Not to mention it looks like a great way to get your wheels coned down and all grippy and ready for race day. Good training technique. I'd like to actually see that sort of course setup in another CSA event, Maybe the BBQ for Spring 2008 or another event???? - P

Good evening to Eddie and all the other CSA'rs. I'll make sure to bring more ladies the next time. We've actually got lots of them, they just need to get to the level that they feel comfortable competing rather than practicing. I also want to make sure that I don't end up at the bottom of the finish list again. Darn that pumping - cyber slalom here I come.
Our own Spokane Inspector Gadget is hard at work thinking up lots of fun games to play next season, so stay tuned. Think "glow in the dark" and see if that doesn't sound kind of fun.
Brad - good luck at the COSS race. Represent well. We'll keep our fingers crossed for you. June

Mark Harris is now our newly appointed Race Starter for all CSA events- Mark you SEXY Mutha F@C%!R, leave that shirt off next time.... but you can leave the pants on , please .
Paul Steiger, good to race with you again, thanks for sharing those pics. Try to get Thad on a board for the next race
Lastly, Pat Chewning was the biggest winner of all, he's got Super Models!! BTW Pat, why did you leave so early??

I had a kick in the Axe! My legs are really sore today. I think the "NIMBO" (Nearly Impossible Mixed Bag of Offsets) course on Saturday did me in.
Did Michael Dong put in the fastest time? I think Skip was the leader when I had to leave early.... that guy was on FIRE!
Best quote of the day: "I hope I can still skate when I'm 50 ..." This was right after one of the new guys asked me "How old ARE you, anyway?"

Just wanted to send a shout out to Pat C. and Pauliwog for another really fun weekend in Salem. Holy cow, we had a great time and are really looking forward to springtime in Salem 2008.
I really found myself reflecting back over this past year on the drive home and it was amazing how many high points were tied to slalom skating with all of the CSA bunch.
Thanks to my husband Mark for getting me into this great sport. But also thanks to Corey, Brad, Dano, Skip, Gareth, Pat C., Pauliwog, and everyone else who made me feel so welcome. You guys all made sure that my first year skating experiences were filled with laughter and support. You were also really great every time I took a tumble. I have a great memory of Pat C. looking down at me on the pavement and saying simply, "you're all right, there's no blood, get up and ride." Thanks Pat.
Congratulations to all of the Spokane riders who shared this amazing first season with Mark and I. All of you ROCK! Wow, was I proud to watch all of you ride Saturday and Sunday.
The Spokane crew is pumped to host another great weekend of racing next September and hope all of you will keep September open.
We really look forward to seeing all of you in the Spring. Please remember that all of you are welcome to come over to Spokane and bunk with us if you want to come and ski at Schweitzer this winter.
We're looking for a parking garage in Spokane to practice cyber all winter, so I'll finally learn how to pump.
Thanks again you guys. Judy

SUNDAY - How many people want to seriously race and how many want race not-so-seriously or have grudgematch racing format or not really race much but just have big fun slalom session(but still with a timer for those who want times)?
Post here so everyone can see what the general mood is. Thanks.
I'm not really asking because I really care about anyone else, but rather because I'm SOOOOOO washed up and a has-been that by not racing I can avoid looking as slow as I have become. Yeah, that's it. - P

..............I might smell slalom in the air. Maybe, hard to tell though.
I FINALLY got to go skateboarding for the first time in about a month last Sunday. It was AWESOME!! First I slalomed at the riverfront until I was getting the shakes and sorta dizzy. I took a break, ran some errands downtown, at more of my sandwich then went to the skatepark and rode the park better than I have in a long time. I was a tired slug the next day but it was sooooo worth it. -P
